The nature and scope of the processing of personal data depend on the relationship between you and ARCO Association Management AG, as well as on the purpose for which, or the reason why, we process the data. You do not have to disclose any personal data in order to use our website. However, with each access the server records a range of user information, which is temporarily stored in the server's log files.

The collection of this information or data is technically necessary in order to display our website and to ensure its stability and security. If you take part in an event organised by us, we collect personal data in order to organise and run the event and, where applicable, to send you additional information afterwards. We also use your information to notify you of further events. You may be photographed or filmed by us at these events, and we may publish this image material internally or externally.
5. Tracking technologies
We use cookies on our website. These are small files that your browser automatically creates and that are stored on your end device (laptop, tablet, smartphone, or similar) when you visit our site.

6. Web analytics
In order to gain insight into the use of our website, to improve our online offering, and to be able to address you with advertising on third-party websites or on social media, we use the following technologies: Google Analytics, Google Maps, Google Tag Manager, and social media plugins.
These tools are provided by third-party providers. As a rule, the information collected for this purpose about the use of a website is transmitted to the third-party provider's server through the use of cookies or similar technologies. Depending on the third-party provider, these servers are located abroad.
The data is normally transmitted with the IP addresses shortened, which prevents the identification of individual end devices. Any transfer of this information by third-party providers takes place only on the basis of legal requirements or within the framework of commissioned data processing.
6.1 Google Analytics
On our websites we use Google Analytics, the web analytics service of Google LLC, Mountain View, California, USA (responsible for Europe is Google Ireland Limited, "Google"). To deactivate Google Analytics, Google provides a browser plug-in at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en. Google Analytics uses cookies. These are small text files that make it possible to store specific, user-related information on the user's end device. They enable Google to analyse the use of our website offering. The information generated by the cookie about your use of our pages (including your IP address) is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. We point out that on this website Google Analytics has been extended with the code "gat._anonymizeIp();" in order to ensure the anonymised collection of IP addresses (known as IP masking). If anonymisation is active, Google shortens IP addresses within member states of the European Union or in other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, so that no conclusions can be drawn about your identity. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. Google may, under certain circumstances, link your IP address with other data held by Google. For data transfers to the USA, Google has undertaken to sign and comply with the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
6.2 Google Maps
On our website we use Google Maps (API) from Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; responsible for Europe is Google Ireland Limited, "Google"). Google Maps is a web service for displaying interactive maps in order to present geographical information visually. Through the use of this service, our location is shown to you and any journey to us is made easier. As soon as you call up the subpages in which the Google Maps map is embedded, information about your use of our website (such as your IP address) is transmitted to Google servers in the USA and stored there. This takes place regardless of whether Google provides a user account through which you are logged in, or whether no user account exists. If you are logged in to Google, your data is assigned directly to your account. If you do not wish your data to be associated with your Google profile, you must log out before activating the button. Google stores your data (even for users who are not logged in) as usage profiles and evaluates them.
For data transfers to the USA, Google has undertaken to sign and comply with the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
6.3 Google Tag Manager
On our website we use Google Tag Manager to create tags for our website and applications. These tags enable us to target marketing measures relating to our services specifically at potential customers (re-targeting).
We use advertising technologies from Google (Ads) and Facebook. In accordance with our settings in Google Tag Manager, Google and Facebook set so-called conversion cookies. This is necessary in order to verify the effectiveness of the relevant advertising measures. We have a legitimate interest in this. We also use Google Tag Manager to set re-targeting tags. These tags enable us to target users with information about our services when they visit another website (e.g. Facebook).
6.4 Social media plugins
On our website, so-called social media plugins ("plugins") from third-party providers are used. The plugins can be identified by the logo of the respective social network. Through the plugins, we offer you the opportunity to interact with the social networks and other users. We use the following plugins on our website: LinkedIn. When you access our website, your browser establishes a direct connection to the third-party provider's servers. The content of the plugin (e.g. YouTube videos) is transmitted by the respective third-party provider directly to your browser and integrated into the page.
The transfer of data to display content (e.g. publications on Instagram) takes place regardless of whether you have an account with the third-party provider and are logged in there. If you are logged in to the third-party provider, the data we collect is also assigned directly to your existing account with that provider. If you activate the plugins, the information is also published on the social network and displayed there to your contacts. For the purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by the third-party providers, as well as your related rights and the settings available to protect your privacy, please refer to the third-party providers' data protection notices. The third-party provider stores the data collected about you as usage profiles and uses them for the purposes of advertising, market research, and/or the needs-based design of its website. Such evaluation takes place in particular also for users who are not logged in, in order to display needs-based advertising and to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website. If you want to prevent the third-party providers from assigning the data collected via our website to your personal profile in the relevant social network, you must log out of the relevant social network before visiting our website. You can also completely prevent the plugins from loading by using specialised add-ons for your browser, such as "Ghostery" (https://www.ghostery.com/) or "NoScript" (http://noscript.net/).
7. Disclosure and transfer of data
We disclose your data to third parties only where this is necessary to provide our services, where these third parties provide a service for us, where we are legally or officially required to do so, or where we have an overriding interest in disclosing the personal data. Not all personal data is transmitted in encrypted form by default. Unless expressly agreed otherwise with the customer, all data is transmitted unencrypted.
The following categories of recipients may receive personal data from us:

Should a data transfer to other countries that do not have an adequate level of data protection be necessary, this takes place on the basis of the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (e.g. in the case of Google) or other suitable instruments.
8. Duration of storage of personal data
We process and store your personal data for as long as is necessary to fulfil our contractual and legal obligations, or otherwise the purposes pursued with the processing, i.e. for example for the duration of the entire business relationship (from the initiation and handling through to the termination of a contract), as well as beyond that in accordance with the statutory retention and documentation obligations. It is possible that personal data is retained for the period during which claims can be asserted against our company (i.e. in particular during the statutory limitation period), and insofar as we are otherwise legally obliged to do so or legitimate business interests require it (e.g. for evidentiary and documentation purposes). As soon as your personal data is no longer required for the purposes mentioned above, it is, in principle and as far as possible, deleted or anonymised. Shorter retention periods of twelve months or less generally apply to operational data (e.g. system protocols, logs).

We take appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal data:

The data protection officer of ARCO Association Management AG is to be involved in new projects from the outset and regularly reviews data security in accordance with the principles, objectives, and technical and organisational measures (TOMs) set out in Art. 1 to 3 DSV (Swiss Data Protection Ordinance).
10. Obligation to provide personal data
Within the framework of our business relationship, you must provide the personal data that is necessary for entering into and conducting a business relationship and for fulfilling the associated contractual obligations (you generally have no legal obligation to provide us with data). Without this data, we will not be able to conclude or perform a contract with you (or with the entity or person you represent). The website also cannot be used if certain information required to ensure data traffic (such as the IP address) is not disclosed.
