With the start of the Advent season, a festive atmosphere slowly made its way into our office. Every year, the Christmas season offers us a wonderful opportunity to slow down our daily work routine for a moment and consciously enjoy time together.
It all began with our festively decorated meeting room, which created an especially cosy atmosphere for the weeks leading up to Christmas.
Cheese am See: Fondue in an Igloo
One true highlight was our dinner at LUX Restaurant & Bar. Surrounded by the igloo forest of Cheese am See, we enjoyed a fondue in our very own igloo, officially ushering in the Christmas season. Afterwards, we took a walk along Zurich’s Bahnhofstrasse, where the Christmas lights “Lucy” had been switched on earlier that evening. We watched the sparkling spectacle in awe before heading home with pleasantly cheese-filled bellies.
In Zurich, Christmas spirit was everywhere: projections, lights and decorated shop windows on every corner.
Grittibänz for Breakfast
The festive season was also celebrated culinary-wise: at our traditional Grittibänze breakfast with jam and butter, we started the day by celebrating Samichlaus. The Grittibänz, a traditional Swiss yeast pastry shaped into a little man, is enjoyed around St Nicholas Day and today symbolises cosiness, tradition and family togetherness.
Our annual Christmas dinner
The season concluded with our Christmas dinner at Restaurant Sonne in Küsnacht. Like each year, partners of all employees were invited to join. In the beautifully decorated Winter Wonderland Garden, we enjoyed delicious apéro bites alongside steaming hot mulled wine. This was followed by dinner in one of the restaurant’s private rooms. It was a warm, family-style evening that gave us the opportunity to switch off from work and simply enjoy great company, delicious food and fine wine.
Our office dog Joya, who joined our team earlier this year, was of course part of the celebrations.
This year, we truly embraced the festive spirit in the office. Christmas lights and plenty of decorations, traditional Grittibänze, fondue and mulled wine all contributed to us consciously taking time to enjoy this season together.
From the bottom of our hearts, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
